During the time of trekking in this route, we will get chance to explore the dramatic scenery, winding mountains passes; snow-capped peaks, fluttering prayer flags and vibrant rhododendrons are the backdrops for a colorful culture steeped in religion and mythology. The palace is as big on natural beauty as it is on spiritually.

Stunning Chomolhari Trek is combines sightseeing with adventure and wildlife activities which have all the Buddhist monks, ancient monasteries, spectacular mountain passes of this route. We will travel through the spectacular landscape, settlements, exploring their Buddhist culture, traditions. You will be the close view of Bhutan’s most beautiful peaks. Along the trekking trails, nature scintillates you with its lush forest of pine, oak, rhododendron, juniper, bamboo, and spruce. The trekking route passes through diverse geographical and cultural region from farmland to forests and to alpine highlands. This land is the remarkable natural beauty with a pristine and intact environment and a friendly, tradition-bound people. Day 1: Arrive Paro

Day 2: Shana (2870m) 5-6 hrs

Day 3: Soi Thangthangkha (3800m) 6-7 hrs 

Day 4: Jangothang (4040m) 6-7 hrs

Day 5: Rest day at Jangothang

Day 6: Lingshi (4150m) 6-7 hrs

Day 7: Shodu (4110m) 7-8 hrs

Day 8: Barshong (3785m) 4-5 hrs

Day 9: Dolam Kencho (3290m) 4-5 hrs

Day 10: Drive to Thimpu

Detail Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Paro

After having breakfast early in the morning we will drive towards the local airport of the Kathmandu valley after spending the wonderful night in Nepal. Today we will fly towards Paro and after reach in Paro, first of all, we will check out the Hotel and we will explore all around the Paro and spend one night in Paro. 

Day 2: Shana (2870m) 5-6 hrs

Early in the morning after having breakfast, we will move towards Shana. At the time of trekking, we will pass through the many beautiful villages, landscape, mountains and on the way, we will have our lunch then after we will take some rest and we will keep walking until we don’t reach Shana where we will spend one night.    

Day 3: Soi Thangthangkha (3800m) 6-7 hrs

In the morning we will slowly drive towards Soi Thangthangkha after spending the wonderful night in Shana. During the time of trekking, we will pass through the lush forest of pine, oak, and rhododendron then after we will reach Soi Thangthangkha where we will spend one night.    

Day 4: Jangothang (4040m) 6-7 hrs

Today we embark on about 4 hours of trekking. During the time of trekking, we will pass through the thick alpine and rhododendron forest. We will have our lunch on the way to having lunch we will take some rest and start our tour towards Jangothang where we will spend one night.   

Day 5: Rest day at Jangothang

We start our tour because today we will explore all around Jangothang. The whole day we will explore all around the Jangothang and in the day we will have our dinner at the local hotel in this area. After having breakfast we will go to explore the old Monastery of this beautiful country and then after we will come back to the hotels and we will spend one night in Jangothang.

Day 6: Lingshi (4150m) 6-7 hrs

Today we will drive towards Lingshi after spending the wonderful night in Lingshi. At the time of trekking, we will pass towards the valley which is almost flat for a while and climb to the Ngye la pass before reaching the Lingshi where we will spend one night.

Day 7: Shodu (4110m) 7-8 hrs

The trail follows a stream for half an hour and crosses the bridge to the right. At the time of trekking, we will pass through the lush forest of Rhododendron, oak, and pine, and the old Monastery of this route then we will reach Shodu and we will spend one night in Shodu.      

Day 8: Barshong (3785m) 4-5 hrs

At the time of trekking, the trail follows the Thimphu River. We will also pass through the rhododendron, juniper, and other alpine forests. During the time of trekking, we get an opportunity to view of the cliff facing rock and waterfall is stunning then after we will reach Barshong where we will spend one night. 

Day 9: Dolam Kencho (3290m) 4-5 hrs

We will drive towards Dolam Kencho after spending the wonderful night in Barshong. During the time of trekking, we will also pass through the rhododendron, juniper, and other alpine forests. We will have our lunch on the way then after we will slowly drive towards Dolam Kencho and we will spend one night.  

Day 10: Drive to Thimpu 

Spending the wonderful moment we will drive towards Thimpu after having breakfast in the hotel. We will pass through many beautiful villages, lush forest of Rhododendron, and oak then after we will reach Thimphu. After reach in Thimpu valley in the evening, we will explore all around the Thimphu valley and spend one night.  

Day 11: Final Departure

After having breakfast early in the morning your trekking guide comes to your hotel to take you in the airport. We will drop you at the international airport and see you off.
