Rara Lake Trek is the most incredible and fascinating trek in the Himalayan region. This one of the best treks to view Nepal’s wildlife including the Himalayan bears. This trip also include the Dolpo trek period of trekking time. While doing trekking in this route we will explore in the national park which is one of the best places in Nepal to see wildlife musk deer, leopards, Ghorals, tahr, Himalayan black bear, and the rare red panda are all alternative. It passes through a region that affords cultural interactions and scenery quite different from the rest of Nepal.

Rara Lake Trek is the biggest Lake in Nepal. The trekking trails traverse lush green forest; it takes you on the journey of flora and fauna. The entire scenic trekking to these trails covers the typically hidden destinations than the other trekking destinations of Nepal. In this trek, we will pass through the beautiful villages of these regions. One can explore incredibly diverse Himalayan vegetations and observe a different kind of birds and wildlife. Through this trek never reaches any great altitude it does involve a lot of up and down walking. It passes through the beautiful valleys, interesting places, local settlements, Hugh Mountains and greenery forest of pine, rhododendron, and oak etc. The season between Aprils to December is the best season for trekking in this route with Best Trekking Guide.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m)

Day 03: Fly from Nepalgunj to Jumla (2,540m)

Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

After arriving at the Kathmandu airport and you will meet office manager who comes to pick up you. After you picked from the airport we will move towards our hotels and first we check out and if you come to our country in the morning time we will explore Thamel Bazaar and in the evening time we will have our welcome dinner and if you come in the evening time then we will directly join our welcome dinner.      

Day 02: Fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj 1 hr

Early in the morning, we will drive towards the local airport from where we will fly towards Nepalgunj. After one-hour scenic fly from the Kathmandu valley towards Nepalgunj and it is located in western Nepal and near to the Nepal-Indian border. After reach in the Nepalgunj, we will explore all around the Nepalgunj city and spend one night in the beautiful city.

Day 03: Fly from Nepalgunj to Jumla (2,540m)

We will be taken to the local airport in the Nepalgunj to fly towards Jhupal after spending the wonderful night in the capital city of Nepal. After 45 minutes flight from the Kathmandu valley, we will reach Nepalgunj and then again we will fly towards Jumla. After reach in Jumla, first of all, we will check out the hotel and explore all around this beautiful village and spend one night in this village.   

Day 04: Jumla to Chere Chaur (3055m)

This is the first-day walking trekking on this route. We will pass through the small villages and a few temples on the way and we will have our lunch on the way and keep walking until we don’t reach in Chere Chaur and after reach in Chere Chaur, we will explore all around the Chere Chaur and stay overnight in this beautiful village.  

Day 05: Chere Chaur to Chalachaur (2980m)

During the time of trekking, we cross the pass and continue trekking on a relatively straight trail until reaching Jaljala Chaur. We will pass through the small villages and a few temples on the way and we will have our lunch on the way and keep walking until we don’t reach in Chalachaur and we will spend one night in these beautiful villages.       

Day 06: Chalachaur to Sinja Valley (2490m)

From Chalachaur, we will move towards Sinja valley. At the time of trekking, we will pass through the several villages and walk along the Jaljala Khola and on the way, we will have our lunch on the way then keep walking until we don’t reach in Sinja Valley and we will spend one night in this beautiful village.

Day 07: Sinja to Ghorosingha (3050m)

We will pass through many beautiful places of this route and we will have our Lunch in the route. We will pass through the Lush forest of Rhododendron and Oak forest and we will reach Ghorosingha village and we will spend one night in Ghorosingha village.

Day 08: Ghorosingha to Rara Lake (3010m)

It is an uphill climb to Rara Lake. During the time of trekking, we will pass through the lush forest of Rhododendron, pine, and oak, and pass through the Rara national park, small villages of this region and keep walking until we don’t reach Rara Lake where we will spend one night in this beautiful village.  

Day 09: Rest day in Rara Lake

We don’t start our trekking because today day is for rest in Rara Lake. Today whole day we will explore all around this beautiful village from where we can see many wonderful views of Mountain of this region which can be seen from this region and at the evening time we will come back to our hotel and we will spend one night in this beautiful place.

Day 10: Rara Lake to Pina (2440m)

Our trail is easy and we walk on a relatively straight path. We will pass through the beautiful waterfall, and keep walking until we don’t reach Pina. The valley is very much popular for bird-watching and we will spend one night in this village.   

Day 11: Pina to Bumra (2850m)

We will continue our descent and pass through a few villages reaching Bumra and this Bumra village is also known as Nauri Ghat where we will spend one night in Bumra.  

Day 12:  Bumra to Jumla (2540m)

Leaving Bumra for Jumla. During the time of trekking, we will pass through the many beautiful places, the lush forest of rhododendron, pine, and oak. On the way, we will have our lunch then after we will slowly start our trekking towards Jumla and keep walking until we don’t reach Jumla. After reach in Jumla, we will explore all around this beautiful village and spend one night in this village. 

Day 13: Jumla to Nepaljung and fly to Kathmandu

Spending the wonderful moment in Jumla we will slowly drive towards local airport of Jumla and fly towards Nepalgunj. After reach in Nepalgunj, we will have our lunch and slowly drive towards the local airport of Nepalgunj to fly towards the Kathmandu valley. After reach in the Kathmandu valley, we will explore around the Thamel Bazaar and we will spend one night in the Kathmandu valley.     

Day 14: Final departure

After having breakfast early in the morning your trekking guide comes to your hotel to take you in the airport. We will drop you at the international airport and see you off.
