My review is a long overdue one and it is specifically related to Santosh Adhikari. As the saying goes, better late than never.

I met Santosh in November 2017 when he was assigned to me by the trekking agency which I engaged the services for a 4D3N Ghorepani-Poonhill trek. To this date, I am grateful that the agency assigned Santosh to be my guide.

My first impression of Santosh was a good one. He took the initiative to look for my friend and me on the day before our trek began. He patiently explained to us what the trek entailed and answered our questions satisfactorily. During the discussion, I recalled having a slight disagreement with my friend and Santosh was quick to offer a solution and diffused the otherwise awkward situation.

My difficulty was not adequately being prepared for the trek, hence extremely slow in pace. My friend was usually 1-2 hours ahead of me during the trek. Poor Santosh had to make sure my friend and the porter were all right before back-tracking to ensure my safety too. You might think that this is part of his job. True, but I sincerely believe no one could handle situations like mine with such easy calm and good nature. I am aware that doing the trek with me was more tiring than for Santosh in comparison to his previous clients. For that, he has my utmost respect and gratitude.

At his young age, Santosh portrays a sense of maturity well beyond his years. He is extremely experienced with the various treks of the Annapurna range, having been a trekking guide for close to eight years to date. He is always polite and his song list is awesome. On some occasions, Santosh played a few tracks to keep me entertained.

If you have plans to trek in Nepal, let Santosh and his team can help you realize a custom-made dream trekking vacation at budget-friendly prices.
