Everest Cho La Pass Trek is the most popular trek in Khumbu region or Sherpa country of Nepal. The trek combines most of the spectacular vantage points falling in the Everest region which gives the grand tour of this region. The scenery is true to its fame with matching culture laced with wild adventure experience. The entire trials lead through the heartland of the Sherpa people who are the original people of this region. It is really challenging trekking routes in the Khumbu region of Nepal which are also known as the unique gem of the Everest region. The route is also known as the Gokyo Lake trek and Everest base camp trek. This trekking route gives you Everest Three Passes Trekking a tinge of adventure with high altitude hikes as well as steeps walks up-and-down. We will pass through the lush forest of Rhododendron, Oak, and pine, snow-fed river, and fabulous glacier, and pass through the Sherpa village and old monasteries of this region. The valley is considered as the hidden valley with an appropriate blue Lake inside the lap of Himalayan.

Everest Cho La Pass Trek starts from the Lukla after 30 minutes scenic flight from the Kathmandu valley. The major attractions of this route are the Mt Everest and the warm and friendly hospitality of the Sherpa people in this region. The flora and fauna are the other ornaments of the Sagarmatha National Park. In this trekking route, Namche Bazaar is the gateway of the expedition’s route to mighty Mt Everest. Details Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

After arriving in Kathmandu, a representative from Journey Nepal Adventure will pick you up from the airport and take you to our hotel cheek in the Hotel.  After getting a refresh, then briefing about the trip.  Welcome dinner hosted by Journey Nepal Adventure. For dinner, you will be served authentic Nepalese cuisine which will introduce you to the country’s food culture. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla and Phakding (2650m) 3-4hrs

Today, you will experience an adventurous flight to Lukla. The 30 minutes flight to Lukla will present you breathtaking views from above. After reaching Lukla, we will start our trek towards Phakding. Passing through beautiful settlements, crossing the suspension bridge, gradual walk to Phakding.  It takes about 3/4 hours. Overnight lodge at Phakding.

Day 03: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m) 6-7hrs

After the hot breakfast.  We start from Phakding and walk across the river to trek all the way through the area of rhododendron, blue pine forest and more which is really superb experience especially during the spring.  The way then becomes fairly difficult and includes a perpendicular climb to Namche Bazaar.  After crossing one of the suspension bridges, we will ascend to Namche Bazaar.  Overnight at  Namche Bazaar.

Day 04: Acclimatize at Namche Bazaar 2-3hrs

In order to avoid a big gain in altitude. We will hike to Everest View hotel (3880m) which take one and half hour climb, enjoy the Everest panoramic view Gaining some elevation and returning back to Namche Bazar will help us best acclimatize to the environment. And visit the Sagarmatha National Park Headquarter.

Overnight at Namche Bazaar.

Day 05: Namche to Dole (4040m). 6-7hrs

Today, we make our way to Dole. Along the way, enjoy the views of the majestic peaks of Kantega, Nuptse, Ama Dablam and the Everest many more mountain view. The trail goes up and down through rhododendron and juniper forest. We finally get to the village of Dole which lies at the Dudh Koshi valley, Overnight at Lodge.

Day 06: Dole to Machhermo (4407m) 5-6hrs

Today, we take a trail towards Machhermo. Lying just beneath Ngozumpa glacier, the longest icy mass in the Himalayas, Machermo is a rather small town in beautiful valley. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 07: Machhermo to Gokyo lake. (4760m) 5-6hrs

Today walk progress on this high altitude moving to the final destination of this adventurous trip to Gokyo Lake morning walks on the scenic path to a small place of Pangka, then the route climbs a rocky trail  valley through the first lake and then the second lake, and then finally to the third lake also called Dudh Pokhari. Today here free afternoon after lunch for short walk with acclimatization, from this vantage point near the lake offers striking views of

Mt. Cho Oyo world’s 06th highest and Gyachung Kang reflecting on turquoise green Gokyo Lake. Overnight at lodge.

Day 08: hike up to Gokyo Ri, (5480m) 7-8hrs.

Today, we get a day closer to the highlight of our trip. Gokyo lies at an amazing altitude of 4800m. This little town on the base of Gokyo Ri is home to several indigenous people. Before getting to Gokyo, we walk along 3 lakes namely Longpongo, Raboche Tsho and Dudh Pokhari. Considering its height, it is definitely one of the most amazing spots for human settlement on the planet. Back to Gokyo spend the afternoon.  Overnight at Lodge.

Day 09: Trek to Thangna/Dragnag (4700m)

After a good breakfast, we begin our trek to Thaknak. The route mostly consists of flat and gentle trails, making the walk smooth and easy. Mostly we walk around and across glaciers. Overnight at Thangna.

Day 10: Trek to Dzongla (4830m) Over the Cho La Pass (5368m)

Today’s we start our trekking early in the morning for destination consists of the toughest trails as compared to trails of the overall journey. The trails are steep and have slippery icy patches that make the walk very challenging. However, slow and steady steps will surely take us to our destination. Our guide will motivate and help you through this difficult trek. Cho La is one of the highest peaks and we can see many prayer flags in the route. As we move further up, we witness the tiny settlements on the horizon far below. The pass gets narrower which makes it hard for us to walk. But after we cross the pass, the trails are mostly downhill and can get slippery in the afternoon as the ice melts. Slowly, we reach Dzongla, a small village with very few lodges. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 11: Trek to Gorak Shep (5180m) then visit Everest base camp (5364m)

After a breakfast, we begin our trek to one of the most popular places of our adventure. The trek is quite exhausting today, not because it contains any challenging trails but due to the high elevation. The trail is flat, wide and easy to walk in. The trail only becomes tough as we reach Gorakshep and walk towards Everest Base Camp. Trekkers must take extra care as the trail is rocky and might be slippery at times.  After we arrive at Everest Base Camp, we take pictures, rest for while and trek back to Gorakshep. Overnight at lodge.

 

Day 12: Gorakshep to Katapathar  (5550 m/18,oooft) 7-8 hrs

Today we wake up early in the morning to hike to Kalapathar, The views from Kala Patthar is considered to be even beautiful than from the base camp. this will be the highest spot of the adventure, offering incredible views of mountains with Mt. Everest at closest. Witnessing the sunrise from such a spot is the even more magical experience. We will return back to Gorak Shep have a breakfast and then start our way towards Pheriche. Overnight at Pheriche.

Day 13: Pheriche to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,280 ft) 6 - 7 hrs

 We will start our journey to Namche Bazzar.The returns are usually easier and faster. Thus, on this day. We will cross Pangboche and Tengboche on this day itself. Enjoy with the Bars, pubs, and Bakery. Overnight at Namche Bazzar.

Day 14: Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2,860m/9,186ft) 6 - 7 hrs

From Namche Bazaar, it is more comfortable altitudes and the friendly farming villages from Jorsale through to Cheplung. We will pass through the small villages. Today is the final day after fabulous adventure. Overnight at Lukla.     

Day 15: Fly to Kathmandu

  Wake up early morning get ready to catch our flight towards the Kathmandu. Overnight at Kathmandu Hotel.

Day 16: Final departure

Our adventure in Nepal comes to an end today! A Journey Nepal Adventure representative will escort you to the airport approximately 3 hours before our scheduled flight. On your way home, you have plenty of time to plan your next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal.
