Everest Base Camp Trek is famous trekking route in Khumbu region. Our trail passes through the Sherpa culture with well-cultivated fields and small helmets, interspersed with magnificent forests of rhododendron, magnolia, and giant firs. It is one of the most beautiful trekking journeys in the Khumbu region of Nepal. Trekking to the Everest region in Nepal is an ultimate goal for trekkers and beginning of the expedition bid for the climbers. We follow the ancient route that will take you through tiny villages, across high mountains passes, and through the remote valleys, villages, and monasteries. This trekking region is also known as the home of world highest Mount Everest. You can view four of six tallest peaks including Mount Everest, Mt Lhotse, Mt Makalu, and Cho Oyu. The trek route leads towards Gokyo Lake Trekking Khumbu high valley as the altitude picks up following the Dudh Kosi and Imjatse Rivers up to its source fed from the glacier of Khumbu. While travelling in this route we will enter the Sagarmatha National park which is the home of many rare plants, birds, and animals. In this route, you will offer the finest experience of culture, nature, and adventure.

Everest Base Camp Trek starts from the Lukla after 30 minutes scenic flight from the Kathmandu valley. The major attractions of this route are the Mt Everest and the warm and friendly hospitality of the Sherpa people in this region. We will have fascinating experience of watching the hustle and bustle Namche Bazaar. Together with the beauty of the Himalayas, the trek is truly a trip of a lifestyle. Day 03: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,438m/11,280 ft) 5 – 6 hrs

Day 04: Acclimatize at Namche Bazaar

Day 05: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,870m/12,694ft) 5- 6 hrs

Day 06: Tengboche to Dingboche (4,360 m/14,300 ft) 5 – 6 hrs

Day 07:  Acclimatization in Dingboche

Day 08: Dingboche to Duglha (4,600 m/15,090 ft) 3 – 4 hrs

Day 09: Duglha to Lobuche (4940 m/16,207 ft) 2 – 4 hrs

Details Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

After arriving in Kathmandu, a representative from Journey Nepal Adventure will pick you up from the airport and take you to our hotel cheek in the Hotel.  After getting a refresh, then briefing about the trip.  Welcome dinner hosted by Journey Nepal Adventure. For dinner, you will be served authentic Nepalese cuisine which will introduce you to the country’s food culture. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla and Phakding (2650m) 3-4hrs

Today, you will experience an adventurous flight to Lukla. The 30 minutes flight to Lukla will present you breathtaking views from above. After reaching Lukla, we will start our trek towards Phakding. Passing through beautiful settlements, crossing the suspension bridge, gradual walk to Phakding.  It takes about 3/4 hours. Overnight lodge at Phakding.

Day 03: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m) 6-7hrs

After the hot breakfast.  We start from Phakding and walk across the river to trek all the way through the area of rhododendron, blue pine forest and more which is really superb experience especially during the spring.  The way then becomes fairly difficult and includes a perpendicular climb to Namche Bazaar.  After crossing one of the suspension bridges, we will ascend to Namche Bazaar.  Overnight at  Namche Bazaar.

Day 04: Acclimatize at Namche Bazaar 2-3hrs

In order to avoid a big gain in altitude. We will hike to Everest View hotel (3880m) which take one and half hour climb, enjoy the Everest panoramic view Gaining some elevation and returning back to Namche Bazar will help us best acclimatize to the environment. And visit the Sagarmatha National Park Headquarter.

Overnight at Namche Bazaar.

Day 05: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,870m/12,694ft) 5- 6 hrs

From Namche Bazar, we will pave our paths towards Tengboche. First few hours include a steady walk, and later, we will descend towards river valley. From the river, we will again walk uphill into the rhododendron forest. A 5-6 hours' of the trek will take us to Tengboche. Tengboche has the largest monastery in the Khumbu region. Throughout the trail, we can enjoy breathtaking views of the Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Lhotse, and Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Kusum Mt. Thamserku and many other peaks.

Day 06: Tengboche to Dingboche (4,360 m/14,300 ft) 5 - 6 hrs

From Tengboche our next destination is Dingboche. Passing through beautiful  Pangbuche Village and Somare Village with great mountain view. The Mountain ranges are very close and are very impressive. We will rest at several viewpoints. For memory, we can take a picture and capture with us. Overnight at Dingboche.

Day 07:  Acclimatization in Dingboche

As the elevation increases to nearly 4400 m, we will have a day at Dingboche for proper acclimatization. We can use the day to hike to Nagarjuna Hill. bake to Dingbuche Overnight at dingbuche.

Day 08: Dingboche to Lobuche (4,910m m/16,200 ft) 5 - 6 hrs

As the elevation increases, the trail will get more challenging. As we head to Lobuche, we will pass through Dungla. The trail then consists of climbing a steep hill which can be quite tough. The top of the hill has memorials walls for the dead climbers who lost their lives climbing Mt. Everest. Continuing our trek to Lobuche,  overnight at Lobuche.

Day 09: Lobuche to Gorakshep Everest Base Camp (5,364m) - Gorakshep. (5,180 m/16,990 ft)7-8hrs

 Today day is the special day, we will reach our destination Everest Base Camp. Gradual walk to Gorakshep. However, from Gorak Shep, the trail is quite rocky. We will come across the Khumbu glacier,  Finally reaching the Everest Base Camp, we can enjoy the destination and soak in its greatness. We will return back to Gorak Shep overnight at Gorakshep.

Day 10: Gorakshep to Katapathar  (5550 m/18,oooft) 6-7 hrs

Today we wake up early in the morning to hike to Kalapathar, The views from Kala Patthar is considered to be even beautiful than from the base camp. Witnessing the sunrise from such a spot is the even more magical experience. We will return back to Gorak Shep have a breakfast and then start our way towards Pheriche. Overnight at Pheriche.

Day 11: Pheriche to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,280 ft) 6 - 7 hrs

 We will start our journey to Namche Bazzar.The returns are usually easier and faster. Thus, on this day. We will cross Pangboche and Tengboche on this day itself. Enjoy with the Bars, pubs, and Bakery. Overnight at Namche Bazzar.

Day 12: Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2,860m/9,186ft) 6 - 7 hrs

From Namche Bazaar, it is more comfortable altitudes and the friendly farming villages from Jorsale through to Cheplung. We will pass through the small villages. Today is the final day after fabulous adventure. Overnight at Lukla.     

Day 13: Fly to Kathmandu

  Wake up early morning get ready to catch our flight towards the Kathmandu. Overnight at Kathmandu Hotel.

Day 14: Final departure

Our adventure in Nepal comes to an end today! A Journey Nepal Adventure representative will escort you to the airport approximately 3 hours before our scheduled flight. On your way home, you have plenty of time to plan your next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal.
