Shivapuri Nagarkot Trek is a short hike out of finest trekking routes around the Kathmandu valley. It is short and easy hiking nearby the Kathmandu valley which covers three best mountain ranges including Shivapuri hills, Chisopani hills, and Nagarkot hills. Trekking in this route is designed for the beginner trekkers and can’t walk for long distance. The village of the Nagarkot is on the edge of the valley and offer 360-degree panoramic views of the mountains including sunrise and sunset as well as Kathmandu valley. During the treks, we follow the forest and reach the top of the hills from where you will have a scenic view of Kathmandu valley. The region offers diverse flora and fauna like pine species, Utis species, oak species. The trek is named after the Shivapuri National Park, which is regarded as the nearest National park. You will walk through the villages, green jungle, streams, visit temples and monasteries and enjoy the views of the beautiful landscape of Kathmandu valley. This trekking route is newly developed and an off-the-beaten-track experience, which highlights an ancient lifestyle combining it with picturesque scenery.

Shivapuri Nagarkot Trek is the famous trekking route which is just 25 kilometers far from Kathmandu valley. The most popular walks lads down from the Nagarkot along a ridge to the temple of Changunayaran-with views of Sankhu village to the right and Bhaktapur to the left. This region is also known as the home of the 100 species of plants and many wild animals and birds including snow leopard, rare Himalayan wildlife black bear, and 250 species of birds. It is the most popular sunrise and Mountain Viewpoint near to the Kathmandu valley. A hundred and twenty-nine species of Mushroom have been so far identified and cataloged from the Shivapuri National park. The season between March to May and September to December is considered as the best season for trekking in this route lead by Experience Trekking Guide.

Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

After arriving at the Kathmandu airport and you will meet office manager who comes to pick up you. After you picked from the airport we will move towards our hotels and first we check out and if you come to our country in the morning time we will explore Thamel Bazaar and in the evening time we will have our welcome dinner and if you come in the evening time then we will directly join our welcome dinner.  

Day 02: Sundarijal to Chisopani

After having breakfast drive to Sundarijal, which most popular drinking water source. After that toward to stepping crossing the MulkharkaTamangg villages take light, lunch continues to Shivpuri. The beautiful Himalayan scenery and evergreen forest and stay overnight at lodge.

Day 03: Chisopani to Nagarkot

Early in the morning, we will slowly start our trekking towards Nagarkot after spending the wonderful night in Chisopani. At the time of trekking, we get an opportunity to see the wonderful sunrise and sunset views. And we will spend one night in Nagarkot.  

Day 04: Nagarkot to Dhulikhel

In the morning time, we will slowly start our trekking towards Dhulikhel after spending the wonderful night in Nagarkot. At the time of trekking, we will pass through the many suspension bridges, the many beautiful villages, the lush forest of Rhododendron and we will spend one night in the Dhulikhel.  

Day 05: Dhulikhel to Kathmandu

Spending the wonderful moment we will move towards Kathmandu valley. By the way, we get many opportunities to see the natural beauty of Nepal which makes our trekking more enjoyable and memorable with the natural beauty of Nepal. After reach in the Kathmandu valley, we will explore around the Thamel Bazaar and we will spend one night in the Kathmandu valley. 

Day 06: Final departure  

After having breakfast early in the morning your trekking guide comes to your hotel to take you in the airport. We will drop you at the international airport and see you off.

  • Hotel In Kathmandu: 2 Nights standard accommodation in Katmandu include breakfast.
  • Kathmandu to Sundarijal and Return to Kathmandu by Private Car
  • You’re Meal in During the Trekking as Your standard meals (3 times a day Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner with a cup of tea or Coffee).
  • All Trekking Permit (Shivapuri National Permit) and Trekkers' Information Management System (TIMS) Permit.
  • Accommodation in Trekking: All accommodations in lodge/tea houses during the treks.
  • Trekking Guide: An experienced, helpful, friendly and English speaking Trekking Guide. His well- paid salary, meals, accommodation insurance etc.
  • Trekking Porter: porters (1 porter for 2 peoples). Salary, Food, Drinks, Accommodation, Transportation.
  • After the Success Trip, Journey Nepal Adventure will Provide Adventure Certificate.
  • The arrangement of Emergency Helicopter service which will be paid by your Travel insurance company.
  • Medical supplies (first aid kit will be available).
