Mardi Himal Trek is also newly popular trekking routes of Nepal which are situated just west of the Kathmandu valley. The trails are harsh and slippery to slogging ahead till the Mardi Himal base camp. It is a newly opened trekking route of the Annapurna region and also the hidden treasure of Annapurna region in Nepal which is the lowest and perhaps the least visited of the trekking peaks in Nepal. In this route, you will be completely soaked with the views snowcapped peaks, green rolling hills and walking into the pristine forest of lovely rhododendron magnolia pines and oak tree lines. This trekking trail goes small winding path, through the magical lush forest until you climb out of the forest at an elevation around 3300 meters. This is less touristic are trek that can be done basic tea houses. Trekking in this route offers imaging views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre and Manaslu ranges. While trekking on these trails we get to appreciate the solitary trails complete with wonderful forest, interesting villages, valleys, terraced farm, dazzling River and the awesome views of the Mountains.

Mardi Himal Trek is a short and fabulous trip in the Annapurna region. We start our trekking from the Pokhara is also known as the city of the Lake. During the time of trekking, we can explore the dramatic panoramas of peaks which can see from this route. The trip covers some of the breathtaking glacial valleys and the hidden landscape of the Annapurna. The major attraction of this trekking is Sidhing village. While doing trekking in this route we get an opportunity to know about the Lifestyle, religion, and culture of the Gurung people. Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

Day 02: Drive to Pokhara (827m) 6-7 hrs

Day 03: Drive to Phedi and trek to Deurali (2100m) 4-5 hrs

Day 04: Deurali to forest camp (2,520m) 6-7 hrs

Day 05: Forest Camp to low camp (2970m) 5-6 hrs

Day 06: Low camp to high camp (3540m) 3-4 hrs

Day 07: High camp to Upper viewpoint (4250m) 2-3 hrs

Day 08: High camp to Sidhing Village (1700m) 6-7 hrs

Day 09: Trek to Saidighatta, drive to Pokhara.

Day 10: Pokhara drive to Kathmandu

Day 11: Final Departure.

Details Itinerary

 
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

After arriving in Kathmandu, a representative from Journey Nepal Adventure will pick us up from the airport and take us to our hotel. In the afternoon, we may take a rest or visit office Journey Nepal Adventure In the evening, there will be a welcome dinner hosted by Journey Nepal Adventure. For dinner, you will be served authentic Nepalese cuisine which will introduce you to the country’s food culture. Overnight in  Kathmandu.

 Day 02: Kathmandu Drive to Pokhara(860m,220km,6 hour)

Starting Mardi Himal  Trek with a tourist bus drive on Nepal’s interesting highway to reach Pokhara, journey leads past many farm villages and towns with views of mountains.
The drive finally ends on reaching Pokhara and transfer to hotel near beautiful Phewa Lake where most of the nice hotels are located

Day 03: Drive to Phedi and trek to Deurali (2100m) 4-5 hrs

We will start our day early and take an hour long drive to Phedi, from where we will commence our Mardi Himal trekking. We will start the trek by climbing the stairs from Phedi which will eventually level level. The trail ascends all the way to Pothana through rhododendron and pine forests till we reach the Dhampus, a Gurung village known for the magnificent views of Annapurna ranges, Lamjung Himal and Manaslu. We will continue our ascent until we reach the small village of Pothana, surrounded by forests and exhibiting marvelous mountain views. We will also get TIMS/ACAP card at the check point in Pothana. Overnight in Deurali.

Day 04: Deurali to forest camp (2,520m) 6-7 hrs

After a hearty breakfast, we start our trek with a steep uphill climb through thick forest along the beautiful views of the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges. The forest is the home to many rare wildlife and we may catch glimpse of some of the rare birds and animals along the way. After walking for around five hours, we will reach the forest camp where we will set up camp for the night.

Day 05: Forest Camp to low camp (2970m) 5-6 hrs

From Forest Camp to Low Camp, the trail continues through the forest; however as we ascend, the vegetation starts to change with more rhododendrons and trees covered with moss, lichen and tree ferns. At Low Camp, there are two basic lodges- one with a dining room with open fire. The view from Low Camp is superb, with Mount Machhapuchhre visible up the valley. Overnight Guesthouse,

Day 06: Low camp to high camp (3540m) 3-4 hrs

Having breakfast, we follow the trail that goes through the forest enriched by mosses, lichen, tree ferns, and orchids. The trail traverses towards the Annapurna South and far below, towards our left we see the Modi Khola Valley that leads up to the Annapurna Sanctuary. After short, steep climb we get out of forest and hit the ridge, grassy and some parts full of snow, takes us to the High Camp. From here, the Annapurna South and Machhapuchre seem very close. Overnight at High Camp.

Day 07: High camp to Upper viewpoint (4250m) 2-3 hrs

On our trek to the upper viewpoint we ascend and descend, and sometimes on a steep and narrow trail. Our trail passes through pastures and we hike along a narrow ridge before reaching the Upper Viewpoint. The view of the Himalayan vista from here is astonishing. We see Mardi Himal (5587m), Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna south (7219m), Hiunchuli (6441m), Baraha Shikhar (Mt. Fang) (7647m), Tent Peak (5695m), Singhachuli (6501m), Machapuchhre (6993m) and others. We trek back to the high camp for an overnight stay.

Day 08: High camp to Sidhing Village (1700m) 6-7 hrs

Wake up early in the morning to have the most precious Sunrise view. Have your breakfast at High camp and descend towards Siding village. We will retrace our steps and follow a steep descent to low camp from where we will trek into the forest to Mardi Khola. After a delightful walk along the river and the forest, we will reach a warm and hospitable village of Siding. Siding is a simple traditional local village. Overnight at Siding Village.

 Day 09:  Trek from Siding village to Saidighatta and drive to Pokhara

After a hearty breakfast, we will start our easy descent to Lumre. The trail follows the contour of the Mardi river valley and gradually descends down the pastures through beautiful Tamang and Gurung Villages. Our Transport will wait for us at Lumre from where we will take an hour long drive to Pokhara. Overnight at Pokhara.

Day 10: Back to Kathmandu by tourist Bus

After enjoying a marvelous time on high mountains and hills of Mardi Himal, after breakfast in the morning depart Pokhara with overland drive back to Kathmandu.

Day 11: Final departure

Our adventure in Nepal comes to an end today! A Journey Nepal Adventure representative will escort us to the airport approximately 3 hours before our scheduled flight. On our way home, we have plenty of time to plan our next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal.
